Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQs) about the
Minor in Public Policy
Can I take one of the upper
division electives before I take 10a and 10b?
Yes.
10 a is filled. I am a
sophmore and want to see if I like the minor.
10a will be offered Winter
1999, so try it then.
I am a graduating senior
and am worried that 10b will be filled.
If you have taken 10a, then
you are allowed in to 10b. If you havent taken 10a by fall of your
senior year, it's probably too late to add the minor.
I am going to participate
in the CAPP program in Washington. Can this apply to the minor?
You may petition to have
your internship and the course and reserch paper connected with it substitute
for the required Capstone Seminar.
When will Policy Studies
be a major?
Not in the near future.
I want to do the Gender
& Multiculturalism cluster. When will it be approved?
This may take another year
or so, but you can petition to have a special cluster created. See
Peter Brown or Eric Monkkonen about this before you take the courses.
I am a transfer student.
Why won't my courses transfer to the minor?
A significant aspect of
the minor is the opportunity to take courses in a professional school,
the School of Public Policy and Social Research.
