According to the 1990 Census, the average age of the population of the Byzantine-Latino Quarter was 29 years in 1990, compared to 33 years in Los Angeles County. 
As Table 1 shows, 30 percent of the population of the Byzantine-Latino Quarter was 17 years old or younger, compared to 26 percent in the region. In both the Byzantine-Latino Quarter and Los Angeles County, 64 percent of the population was between 18 and 64 years of age. Further, the Byzantine-Latino Quarter presents a lower proportions of elders compared to the county. Seven percent of the population is 65 years or older, compared to the 10 percent in the County.
