The Vision
This page illustrates how the Byzantine-Latino Quarter residents envision their neighborhood ten years from now. On September 21st, 1997, some members of the community were asked to express their vision of the Byzantine-Latino Quarter.
They were divided into three groups, based on how long they had lived in the community.
1) New Kids are residents who have lived in the community for less than five years.
2) Tweeners are residents who have lived in the community for more than five years but less than fifteen years.
3) Old Timers are residents who have lived in the community for more than fifteen years.
Each group was asked to draw two sets of picture to describe their vision for the community. The first drawing represents how they see their community today. The second drawing illustrates how they envision their community ten years from now.
